Key Details: Purpose:
The project aims to supply drinking water to drought-prone areas in Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Hassan, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Ramanagara, and Bangalore Rural districts.
Stages: Stage 1:
Focuses on lift component works and the construction of a 260 km gravity main canal.
Stage 2:
Includes feeders that will deliver water to various towns and villages.
Groundwater Recharge:
Besides supplying drinking water, the project will help in recharging groundwater by filling over 527 tanks in the region. Completion Deadline: The project is scheduled for completion by March 2027.
