World's first tilted LED dome planetarium in Mysuru

The world's first tilted LED dome planetarium is set to open in Mysuru in September 2025. This innovative project is being developed by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIAp) and the University of Mysore at the Chamundi Hills campus.

Key Features:

Tilted Dome: The planetarium will feature a 15-meter diameter dome tilted at an angle of 15 degrees, allowing visitors to view the night sky right in front of them instead of craning their necks.

Financial Support: The project is financially supported by MPLADS funds, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Atomic Energy, and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India.
