Trans women now get benefit under Gruha Lakshmi scheme

The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, initially aimed at supporting women heads of families, has now been extended to include trans women.

Over 15,000 trans women have already started receiving the benefits as of December 11, 2024.

About the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Launch Date: 

Originally launched in 2023. Government Initiative: Part of broader efforts to promote gender equality and support vulnerable populations.

Purpose:

 Provide financial assistance to women heads of families in Karnataka. Aim to support the economic stability of families.

Benefits: Monthly pension of ₹2,000 for eligible women
