Odisha Gold Reserves: discovered in multiple locations

Odisha has recently made a significant discovery of gold reserves across multiple districts, marking a major milestone for the state's mineral sector.

1. Discovery Details: Gold reserves have been identified in 18 locations across Odisha, including districts like Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sambalpur, Boudh, and Angul.

Major Gold-Producing States: Karnataka: Dominates gold production with mines like Hutt Gold Mines in Raichur. Jharkhand: Known for its Kunderkocha mines. Andhra Pradesh: Hosts gold deposits in areas like Ramagiri.

Challenges: Depletion of high-grade ores in older mines like the Kolar Gold Fields. Dependence on imports to meet domestic demand, as India is one of the largest gold consumers globally.

Gold Reserves in Karnataka Karnataka is one of India's richest states in terms of gold reserves. 1. Major Gold Fields: Kolar Gold Fields: Historically significant, though mining has ceased due to depletion of high-quality reserves.

Hutti Gold Mines:

 Karnataka accounts for approximately 22% of India's gold reserves. The state produces about 3,000 kilograms of gold annually.
