Proposed Mining: Sarangapani Iron and Manganese Ore Mine by Mineral Enterprises Private Limited. Environmental Impact: Deforestation: The project involves diverting 48.2 hectares of forest land, resulting in the felling of 17,206 trees.

Faunal Diversity: The area is rich in wildlife, including leopards, sloth bears, wolves, pangolins, and four-horned antelopes. Eco-Sensitive Zone: The proposed mining area falls within the deemed eco-sensitive zone of the sanctuary.
