Karnataka: Five achievers conferred Valmiki award

Maharshi Valmiki Award 2024 conferred to five remarkable achievers on Valmiki Jayanti.

The recipients are:

1. Kilari Jogayya from Chitradurga District, Karnataka.

2. Dr. Ratnamma S from Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka.

3. Rajashekhara Talwara from Belagavi, Karnataka.

4. K S Mrutyunjaya from Bengaluru, Karnataka.

5. Ratnamma B Sogi from Vijayanagar district, Karnataka.

Each recipient will be honored with a 20-gram gold medal and ₹5 lakh in cash.

About the Maharshi Valmiki Award

The Maharshi Valmiki Award is a prestigious honor given to individuals or organizations for their outstanding contributions to the upliftment of marginalized communities, particularly the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

It is named after Maharshi Valmiki, the revered sage and author of the epic Ramayana.
