Israel Joins Asian Development Bank (ADB)

Israel has officially joined the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as its 69th member and 20th non-regional member.

Strategic Ties: The move is expected to enhance Israel's global strategic ties and economic outreach.

Major Contributors: Japan and the United States are the major contributors to the ADB's capital, each contributing more than $22.23 billion.

About the Asian Development Bank The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is a regional development bank established on December 19, 1966.

Mission: ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty.

Membership: ADB has 69 members, of which 49 are from the region. Headquarters: The bank is headquartered at 6 ADB Avenue, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines.

President: The current president is Masatsugu Asakawa. 

Projects: ADB supports projects in developing member countries that create economic and development impact, delivered through both public and private sector operations, advisory services, and knowledge support.
