Indian Army rolls out its first overhauled T-90 ‘Bhishma’ tank
The Indian Army has successfully rolled out its first overhauled T-90 'Bhishma' tank on October 7, 2024.

Overhaul Process: The overhaul involved stripping the tank down to the last nut and bolt and meticulously rebuilding it from scratch.

Location: The overhaul was conducted at the 505 Army Base Workshop in Delhi by the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME).

Initiative: This overhaul is part of the Indian Army's "Decade of Transformation" initiative, aimed at enhancing the operational readiness and self-reliance of its armored formations.

Significance: The T-90 Bhishma tank, originally built under license from Russia at the Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF) at Avadi, near Chennai, is known for its firepower, mobility, and protection.
