Hindi Writer Wins Jnanpith Award

Renowned Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla has been awarded the 59th Jnanpith Award, India's highest literary honor, for his outstanding contribution to Hindi literature.

1. Award Details: 

 The Jnanpith Award is India's most prestigious literary accolade, instituted in 1961. It includes a cash prize of ₹11 lakh, a bronze Saraswati statue, and a citation.

2. About Vinod Kumar Shukla:

 Born in 1937 in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. He is the first writer from Chhattisgarh to receive this award.

3. Notable Works: "Naukar Ki Kameez" (1979): Adapted into a film by Mani Kaul. "Deewar Mein Ek Khirki Rehti Thi": Won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1999.
