Gujarati writer bags Kuvempu national award

Gujarati writer Himanshi Indulal Shelat has been selected for the prestigious Kuvempu Rashtriya Puraskar for the year 2024.

Selection Committee: Chairperson: B.L. Shankar, President of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Trust. Members: Gujarati writer and translator Sharifa Vijaliwala, former secretary of the Sahitya Akademi Agrahara Krishnamurthy, and Prof Purushottam Bilimale, Chairman of Kannada Development Authority.

Previous Awards: She has received multiple awards, including the Sahitya Akademi Award for Gujarati in 1996 for her short stories collection "Andhari Galima Safed Tapakan".
