•Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi has launched three major digital initiatives—Depot Darpan Portal, Anna Mitra, and Anna Sahayata—to enhance transparency and efficiency in India’s Public Distribution System (PDS).

1. Overview of the Initiatives

•Depot Darpan Portal:

A self-assessment and monitoring tool for food grain depots.

•Designed to digitally monitor food grain depots operated by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).

•Uses IoT sensors and CCTV surveillance for real-time monitoring of storage conditions.

•Anna Mitra App:

A mobile application for PDS stakeholders, including Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers.

•Anna Sahayata Platform:

A grievance redressal system for beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).

•Initially launched in five states:

Gujarat, Jharkhand, Telangana, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh.

•Strengthens India’s food security infrastructure.

•Enhances transparency and efficiency in PDS operations.

•Supports Digital India and Viksit Bharat initiatives.
