BWSSB bags 'World Water 2025 Award'

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has been honored with the prestigious World Water 2025 Award for its exceptional contributions to sustainable urban water supply and management.

1. Award Details:
 Presented by the Water Digest Awards in collaboration with UNESCO. Recognizes organizations, NGOs, and individuals for their efforts in water treatment, reuse, and conservation.

2. Key Initiatives by BWSSB:

 Reduced unaccounted-for water from 28% to 20%. Promoted water conservation through the Green Star Challenge. Mandated the use of aerators to improve water efficiency.

Replenished 23 lakes with treated water to boost groundwater levels. Provided free water supply to slum areas via 1,700 mini tankers. Delivered zero-bacteria water to IT corridors.
