The ADB-funded SMILE Program (Strengthening Multimodal and Integrated Logistics Ecosystem) is a strategic initiative aimed at revolutionizing India's logistics sector.

1. Objective: 

 Enhance India's logistics efficiency by addressing infrastructural gaps and promoting digital transformation. Reduce logistics costs and improve supply chain resilience, especially for the manufacturing sector.

2. Key Features:

 Multimodal Logistics Development: Focuses on integrating road, rail, air, and waterways for seamless goods movement. Standardization of Warehousing: Establishes uniform standards for storage facilities to improve supply chain efficiency.

Digitalization: 

Implements smart systems for real-time tracking, automation, and data analytics. Low-Emission Solutions: Encourages the use of electric and alternative fuel vehicles for sustainable logistics.

3. Policy Alignment:

 Supports the National Logistics Policy and PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. Aims to improve India's ranking in the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI).
