'Humsafar Policy' launched

The Humsafar Policy was launched by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on October 8, 2024.

Objective: The policy aims to provide a safe and pleasant travel experience on national highways by enhancing wayside amenities.

Facilities: It includes the development of clean toilets, baby care rooms, EV charging stations, and other essential amenities. 

Service Providers: The policy provides a framework for onboarding both existing and upcoming service providers to ensure standardized, well-maintained, and hygienic facilities.

Environmental Focus: The policy emphasizes eco-friendly practices, including water and soil conservation, waste recycling, and the use of solar energy. 

Economic Impact: It aims to boost local economies by creating new business opportunities along the highways.
